“Beetlejuice 2” is a Sequel, All Major Characters May Return

Monday, May 7, 2012

Bloody-Disgusting caught up with writer Seth Grahame-Smith during the “Dark Shadows” press conference and asked him for an update on “Beetlejuice 2” and whether Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis or Winona Ryder’s characters will return.

It’s all possible. In terms of the story, however, many years that are between the two films will be the amount of years that are between the two story lines. It’s not a reboot or a remake, it’s a straight sequel with Michael Keaton returning as Beetlejuice.

Having in mind that it’s a big “IF”, would you like to see Winona back as an adult Lydia?

First Poster for Tim Burton’s Stop-Motion Animated ‘Frankenweenie’

Tuesday, Feb 21, 2012

So far we’ve only seen a handful of photos for Tim Burton’s adaptation of his stop-motion animated short Frankenweenie featuring the voices of Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, Martin Short, Tom Kenny and Martin Landau as various characters. Now we have the first moving image of sorts from the film in the form on an animated poster teasing the film’s fall release later this year. It’s cute and a bit dark all at the same time, something we’ve come to expect from Burton. Even though it’s an adaptation, it’s about as close to something original Burton has done as a director in a long time.

Disney is bringing Frankenweenie to theaters everywhere in 3D starting on October 5th, 2012 late this year.

Winona Ryder joining “The Iceman”

Tuesday, Dec 13, 2011

Deadline reports that Winona Ryder has just committed to star with Michael Shannon and Chris Evans in The Iceman, the Ariel Vromen-directed drama based on the Anthony Bruno book about Richard Kuklinski, a family man who secretly carried out contract killings for the mob. Millennium Films/Nu Image is financing. Shannon is playing Kuklinski, aka The Iceman, and Evans is playing his mentor, Robert Pronge. Ryder, most recently seen in Black Swan and The Dilemma, will play Kuklinski’s wife, Deborah, who did not know that he was a contract killer. Gersh-repped Ryder just wrapped the indie The Stare opposite James Franco.

Production is supposed to start this month.

‘Frankenweenie’ first look

Thursday, Oct 27, 2011

Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie is shaping up to be an interesting mix of “Ewwwww!’s” as well as “Awwwww’s.”

His latest stop-motion gothic-fest (rendered in 1950s-style black-and-white as well as 3-D) tells the story of a little boy named Victor, who loves his pet dog Sparky more than anything in the world. Naturally — or rather, unnaturally — Victor decides to use his science kit to bring the pup back from the grave after an accident claims the pooch’s life. Continue reading ‘Frankenweenie’ first look
